About

Meet your therapist

Whether you’re a young adult carrying more than you can bear or a parent watching your child quietly struggling beneath the surface, you don’t have to figure this out alone.

Libby LeCorgne, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker born & raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. At Rooted Counseling & Wellness, I work with young adults, children, and teens, as well as the parents who love them and aren’t sure how to help anymore. Whether you’re navigating trauma (abuse, PTSD, exposure to violence), grief, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ identity, or a major life transition, we work collaboratively to strengthen emotional stability, confidence, and a clearer sense of direction so you can feel more like yourself again.

My practice is built on the belief that therapy is not about waving a magic wand and “fixing” you. It’s about making sense of what you’ve been through, releasing self-blame, and building new ways of living that actually fit the life you’re trying to create.

We start with your story, not just a checklist of symptoms. What’s been happening, what you’ve tried, what you’re hoping life could look like on the other side of this. From there, we work together to uncover patterns of thinking and behaving that are holding you back, build on the strengths you already have, and develop tools that you can actually use in your day-to-day life, not just in a therapist’s office.

My style is collaborative, warm, compassionate, direct, and honest, which means I’ll celebrate wins, sit with you in the hard stuff, and gently push back when I think you’re selling yourself short.

Before beginning my own practice, I spent over ten years providing community mental health in school and non-profit settings. I am not just trauma-informed but trauma certified. I’m trained in TF-CBT, DBT, play therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused approaches. In practice, that means I have a lot of ways to meet you where you are: talk therapy, creative activities, skill-building, whatever clicks with you.

I use art, storytelling, and play not as gimmicks, but because they reach young people in ways that talking alone sometimes can’t. Healing doesn’t have to be heavy. It can be creative, surprising, and even fun.

My practice is holistic, culturally responsive, antiracist, LGBTQ+-affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming. You won’t spend our sessions explaining or defending who you are. You are the expert on your own life. My role is to ask the right questions and guide you in accessing your own insight, reconnect with your strengths, and build a clearer sense of direction and engagement in your life.

Healing is possible — even if it doesn’t feel that way yet.

Outside of the therapy office, you’ll find me reading in city park, crafting and making costumes and art, learning something new, braiding hair at Ren Fair, or traveling the world.
